Hrapoćuša cake in Dol

What do you think about spending day in a small village on Brač island? This village is called Dol, charming little eco village famous for Hrapoćuša cake which we even call aphrodisiac of Brač. Old houses with stone roof slabs are built on rocky hills showing us real local ambience. Short walk through Dol will take us to the place known for great Hrapoćuša cake. This cake is very sweet and unusual because of rustic look. Cake is named after sort of stone famous for a reddish colour which is found in Dol. In August we have an interesting celebration of this cake, it’s called “Night of Hrapoćuša”, where you can come and enjoy, concerts of klapa, hear a story about the cake and try a cake of course. Ingredients:
Cake:
12 yolks
4 egg whites
12 spoons of sugar
4 cups of warm water
12 spoons of flour
A bit of rum
A bit of vanilla
Grated lemon crust
Cream:
1/2 kg of sugar
3/4 kg of nut halves
8 egg whites
